Jeary Board of Trustees - Meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the Village Hall, 3 West Main Street, at 7 p.m. Elections - Village Elections are held every two years on the 3rd Tuesday in March. Voting times are 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. To register to vote you must sign up through the Genesee County Board of Elections. Absentee Ballots - If you expect to be out of town on Election Day on business, vacation, student or a hospital patient, you may apply for an absentee ballot by contacting the Clerk's Office either by phone, mail or in person. Property Taxes - Village taxes are levied on June 1, and collected without penalty through July 1. Al ate charge of 5% will be added to taxes paid between July 2 and August 1. An additional 1% per month is collected until November 1, when all unpaid taxes are returned to the County Treasurer for collection. Taxes are collected at the Municipal Building during regular business hours as well as the Bank of America, The National Bank of Geneva and The Bank of Castile. Village Office Schedule - The Village Office located in the Village Hall is open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The offices are closed for all posted legal holidays. After hour complaints will be received by the Dispatch office which is open seven days per week including all holidays. |
