Information You Can Use
The Village of LeRoy no longer maintains its own water system. For questions regarding a water problem or billing you must contact the Monroe County Water Authority at 585-442-7200.
Sewer bills are mailed quarterly: February 5th, May 5th, August 5th and November 5th and are generally due on the 5th of the following month, unless the 5th falls on the weekend. Payment may be made at the Village Hall during business hours. Payment may also be made at the National Bank of Geneva and The Bank of Castile.
Freedom of Information requests must be filed with the Village Clerk. The cost for this service is $.25 per photostatic copy. Payment must be received before the documents will be released.
Garbage Pick up: Upstate Disposal Services will pick up at the curb, residential garbage and trash that is bagged with an official Village of LeRoy garbage tag sold at retail outlets in the Village at a cost of $1.75 per tag. Bags must not exceed 50 pounds. Furniture, appliances and oversize materials can be disposed of by purchasing a sticker at the Village Clerk's Office. The cost for these tags range from $5-$20 depending on the item. Demolition material, tires and car bodies are not included in the Village collection program. For weekly pick up, all material must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled day. If you are missed call 768-2527. Please do not put garbage outside until the night before your scheduled pick up. Garbage bag tags may purchased at: Tops, Eckerd Drugs, Yellow Goose, Corcker's Ace Hardware and Jersey Side Deli. *For refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners & dehumidifiers, please contact the Village Office.
Curbside Recycling: Glass, metal, paper and Plastic (1 and 2) are collected curbside on regular garbage collection days. Recycling boxes are available at the Village Office for $4.00
Yard Waste: During the months of October and November, Village crews collect leaves raked to, or placed in proper bags on the terrace between the sidewalk and the street. Please do not deposit leaves in the street.
Winter Overnight Parking Hours: During the period from November 1 to April 1, parking is restricted on Village Streets from 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Violators will be ticketed and subject to an additional fine for non-payment and vehicle may be towed away.
